Mets Opening Day 2009

The day we’ve all been waiting for. After yet another excruciating September Mets baseball is back. At 1:10pm today Johan Santana will battle the weather and toe the mound against the Cincinnati Reds.

Unless your team has just won the World Series, today has got to be the best day of the baseball year. One word sums it all up, Hope. No matter your teams record last year, no matter how badly they have collapsed in prior years, on Opening day every single MLB team is in first place. There is hope that just maybe your team can make that miracle run, maybe a worst to first scenario for some teams, a chance at redemption for others.

Enjoy the day, maybe if you’re working you can sneak out for a bit, maybe if you’re at school you get a chance to listen to some of the game or pull it up on the internet.
