The Mets look to take the series today against Josh Johnson and the Marlins today at 1:10. Johan the Barbarian and his .70 ERA will go to the mound and try to avenge his only loss of the year. Josh Johnson is 5-0 vs. the Mets in his career with a 1.36 in six starts, including the complete game 5 hitter tossed earlier this month.
It’d be nice to win this game and head into Philly for a slugfest this weekend. Here’s today’s lineup, with Murph batting 3rd in front of Beltran.
- Jose Reyes, SS
- Alex Cora, 2B
- Daniel Murphy, LF
- Carlos Beltran, CF
- David Wright, 3B
- Ryan Church, RF
- Fernando Tatis, 1B
- Ramon Castro, C
- Johan Santana, P

Is it football season yet? This loss today really hurt. Jerry should of kept Santana in for another inning and then hand the game over to K-Rod. I don’t understand how the Mets have the bases loaded in the 9th with two outs and wind up losing the game, good teams get the hits in those situations to win the game. From what I have seen in the first month of the season there are a lot of holes on this team and we are leaving a lot of runners in scoring position. Get ready for a long season.
Way too many men left on base…Total September flashback or even dating back to beginning of last year when Santana wouldnt ask for the ball until the bullpen had already blow 4 or 5 wins for him
