According to Mets.comthe Mets have announced that Reyes has tendinitis behind his right calf and is listed as day to day. If the injury to Delgado was not bad enough now Reyes may be out for an extended period of time. The injury to Alex Cora could not of come at a worst time for the Mets. Hopefully the Reyes injury does not nag him for the rest of the season. I think at his point in the season Omar Minaya has to look to make a deal to improve our lineup before it is too late.

Rob I think its too early for Omar to really get anything major done. Obviously other teams know the Mets are hurting now so a trade won’t be easy without any leverage. That said a stop gap player on the cheap would nice, Omar definitely has his work cut out for him. I feel like he may be more pressured than ever before to get this team into the playoffs so he may be quicker to pull a deal off this season as his job could very well be on the line.
I agree with Dom. A guy like DeRosa would be perfect… whenever the media talks about these trade rumors though, they never mention what the Mets would need to give up… that’s what it would obviously come down to.
