Jerry has given David Wright the day off today. He’s been struggling again. He’s played pretty much every game, so a day was probably needed. Brian Schneider makes his return to the lineup, giving Omir Santos a day off after his heroics. I thought Jerry like playing the hot hand? Tim Redding coming off a bad start will matchup vs. Josh Johnson. Johson looks to continue his dominance against the Mets, whom he is 5-0 with a 1.97 ERA in seven career starts.
Looks like runs will be hard to come with today’s lineup, F-Mart bats 2nd, Tatis in the cleanup role and Schneider returns vs. Marlins ace Josh Johnson.

Damn….Sneder may suck, but his wife is pretty hot!! Good for him!
1) I understand resting your starters and keeping them fresh, but Jerry basically threw in the towel here. I understand Johnson owns the Mets. Maybe if the game was close we would have seen Wright and Sheff come in later, but come on. The phils were playing the Nats today, you have to run a better lineup out than above. The nats start a better lineup out than the one used by Jerry.
2) Just posing a question here: Does anyone else feel that Schneider doesn’t always call the best pitches behind the plate ??
Yes Castro was deadweight and needed to go, but I feel like he was helpful and called good pitches. I have felt like Schneider hasn’t done much for us, and should sit while Santos is hot.
