The Mets won the series from Nationals today and Livan Hernandez continued his winning ways. Livan pitched seven innings of shut out ball as the Mets scored five in the first inning cruising to a 7-0 victory. David Wright who has either been extremely cold or hot, is hot again going 2-3 with an RBI. Ryan Church returned sucessfully with two hits himself and Dan Murphy also had a pair of hits and an RBI.
After getting pummeled yesterday winning today on get away day feels better. Good to see Murphy and Church contribute today, it will be needed big time. Now the tough stretch begins, the Phillies will fly back late tonight. Both teams will have a day off tomorrow before Johan the Barbarian takes the mound in the series opener Tuesday. Three huge games vs. the Phillies, then three games vs. the cross town rivals at Yankee Stadium.
