Dykstra files for Bankruptcy

Earlier this season, I commented on an espn article regarding former Met Lenny Dykstra. The article followed Dykstra’s business dealings. At the time a few months ago Lenny felt everyone was after him and that all his business deals were legit and on the up and up. Well a few months later he has filed for bankruptcy.  Dykstra, 46, has no more than $50,000 in assets and between $10 million and $50 million in liabilities, according to a petition filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Central District of California.

Ouch,  well good luck Lenny sounds like you’ll need it. As a player I loved him but it seems like his life and has been one big whirlwind of corrupt business practices gone wrong.

We knew this was eventually going to happen. He was living it up in Greztky’s old mansion, gambling like a behemoth and eating twizzlers like there was no tomorrow. But Nails will always be known as an enigmatic player for the mets.

I can not feel bad for him, even if he was an 86 Met. He is filing a Chap 11 for protection from lawsuits by his creditors. Chase, BOA This so called savvy businessman and investor is claiming predatory lending against WAMU for allegedy making him believe that he could afford Wayne Gretzky’s former pad for 17mill. i wonder who made him think he could afford the Rolls and the Gulfstream II ?

Just look at the list of creditors (p4 and 5) and ask your self should he really be allowed to re structure ? All that this will lead to is widespread business failure again, and imminent alcohol problems. We should start a pool on how long before his aging trophy wife leaves him.
