Mets try to take Series from L.A.

Since the beginning of June, the Mets have a total of two series wins. They won in early June taking 2 of 3 from the Nats and then surprisingly took 3 of 4 from the Cardinals June 25th, other than that it’s been losing baseball. They’ll try to take the series tonight against baseball’s best record holder in the Dodgers.

Livan Hernandez will go tonight vs. Randy Wolf. All three of Wolf’s wins this season have come on the road, where he’s 3-2 with a 2.91 ERA. Wolf, though, hasn’t picked up a victory in seven starts dating to May 28, going 0-2 with a 4.66 ERA. David Wright snapped an 0-17 streak last night. Wright is a .261 (6 for 23) lifetime hitter against Wolf.

Livan will look to bounce back from a terrible outing against the Phillies last weekend. He’s come back to earth a bit losing three straight. Manny Ramirez is 5 for 8 with a homer and five RBIs against Hernandez, while Rafael Furcal has four homers in 69 at-bats versus Hernandez – his most against any pitcher.

In his twitter post Bart Hubbuch of the Post says Argenis Reyes is in uniform and preparing took infield as of 3:30p. Reyes was sent down when Ollie was activated yesterday. An explanation is forthcoming. Nick Evans is batting 2nd tonight.

A win tonight would be very nice. It would restore a little confidence in this team before the final three games before the all-star break. I will be at the game tonight, sitting with pessimets contributing authors, Negative Ned, Schepfest and Brendan Schepis in the promenade reserved. In my attempt to spend as little money as possible at CitiField, I’ll be at the pitch n’ putt early to grab food and drinks. If the Wilpon’s don’t want to spend, neither do I!

You gotta be kidding me!!!! Tatis is in the lineup tonight instead of MurphQuake! Screw Jerry… he’s a f#cking idiot!

Maybe it’s the lefty on the mound like Cerrone said, but I don’t like this move either. Ride the hot hand.

I just hope the Mets hang in there long enough that I don’t have to leave before the game is over and take the 7 local home tonight…
