The barehand behind the back toss by Daniel Murphy to the pitcher Bobby Parnell covering first last night in the 7th was probably the highlight of the year for the Mets. I thought it deserved it’s own post. Maybe just maybe that play will turn the Mets luck around. Maybe the Baseball gods have decided enough punishment has been rendered to this team and it’s fans. Could this somehow be a weird Mets turning point? Let’s hope so.
Murphy said his roommate, first baseman/left fielder Nick Evans, might not let him watch his own highlight in their apartment. But he expected to hear about it from family and friends. “I might have some text messages,” Murphy said. “My mom probably called me.”
Even if things don’t turn around this season, and if Dan Murphy never amounts to anything,we’ll all have the Flushing flip, here are the highlights from espn:
