As most of you know by now, Mets VP Tony Bernazard has been making headlines recently and not the good kind. Bernazard’s latest controversial move involves a report from Adam Rubin at the Daily News that states:
Bernazard removed his shirt and challenged the Double-A players to a fight during a postgame tirade. Bernazard particularly went after middle infield prospect Jose Coronado, using a slang term associated with a woman’s anatomy, a source indicated.
Earlier this week Bernazard came under scrutiny when The Daily News reported that at a recent game at Citi Field, Bernazard, who wanted a seat behind home plate that was occupied by a Diamondbacks scout, unleashed a profanity-laced tirade against a subordinate who suggested he wait until the half-inning was over to take the seat.
And most recently, the New York Post reports K-Rod and Bernazzard had words in Atlanta last week on the team bus.
“Yeah [it happened], but I’m not going to talk about that,” Rodriguez told The Post before tonight’s game here with the Nationals. “Not going to get into it.”
Another player, who asked to remain anonymous, told The Post today: “That guy [Bernazard] is crazy. No one like[s] him.”
Last season there were rumblings that Bernazard was behind the Willie Randolph firing. In a post by Matt Cerrone at MetsBlog last season, Ken Davidoff of Newsday was quoted as saying,”I received two phone calls from industry contacts – the first, a longtime friend of many Hispanic players, and the second, a scout from an American League team. Both, unsolicited, brought up Bernazard, both professed to not know him and both offered the same sentiment: ‘I hear he’s a really bad guy.’”
I find this totally hilarious. This would only happen in the Mets organization. Its so ridiculous, its comical, what else can go wrong this season with this team? Obviously this is not a one time incident and I imagine will continue to happen while Bernazard is with club. Supposedly, Bernazard is in good with Jeff Wilpon. So chances are he won’t get fired, although many a Met fan are calling for just that. If this is what we have been hearing over the past week, just imagine all the even crazier things we don’t hear about Bernazard. This is just another one of those Met situations that will most likely drag out in the media. I imagine years down the line we’ll hear all the insane stories about Bernazard and how he was part of destroying the internal the processes of the Mets organization.

Hope these former flat-tire changing Dominicans (Omar and company) from the Queens junkyard (behind SHITTY-field) get fucking fired soon. They keep buying useless players! Maybe they don’t want white players because neither Doc Halladay nor Matt Holliday nor Adam LaRoche nor Eric Hinske eat rice with beans AND talk broken english (A DEF MUST)!
