We all knew it was coming. It was a matter of time before David Wright was going to get hurt this season. In a really scary moment, David Wright was beaned in the head by Matt Cain’s 94 mph fastball in the fourth inning. He lay face down motionless for a couple of minutes before being lifted up and walking off the field on his own power. Wright did suffer a concussion and will remain in Hospital for Special Surgery over night as a precaution. Waiting to find out what else will go wrong this season.
I was at the game today. The Mets actually fought back from a three run deficit before Benji Molina hit the go ahead homer off of K-Rod in his second inning of work in the 10th. Molina was beaned by Santana in his prior at bat, in retaliation for the Wright drilling.
“I feel like I have to protect my teammates,” Santana said. “You can call that whatever you want. We’re in it together.”
I would be extremely scared if I was Johan Santana, he seems like the next logical choice for the injury monster to attack. It’s just not fun anymore. The injuries are now getting scary. I’m sick of it as I’m sure everyone else is. Jerry Manuel seemed somewhat defeated after the game. It’s a pretty hopeless feeling in a season that has been taken away by the injury monster.

It‘s quite in here! Why not leave a response?
