I’m actually laughing as I’m typing this because the Mets just lost today’s game on a game ending unassisted triple play. Just when you thought they couldn’t find another way to lose a ball game they end a rally in the ninth with a triple play. It truly is comical. The runners were put in motion when Jeff Francoeur hit a line drive to Eric Bruntlett who converted the unassisted triple play.
Oliver Perez had another horrendous outing giving up six runs in the first and getting pulled with Pedro Martinez at the plate on a 3-0 count. Disgusting.
The Mets to their credit did fight back throughout the game. They managed to get the first three runners on base and scored a run in the ninth to make it 9-7, before the worst case scenario of a triple play occured.
You know I can’t say I’m surprised that we hit into the triple play to kill the comeback and end the game. Nothing surprises me anymore with this team. I’m waiting for the team to get no-hit next. Maybe on the last game of the season. That would be an even better capper to end it. Oh and by the way Omar and Jerry received a new vote of confidence from Fred Wilpon according to the Post.

EVEN THOUGH I DIDNT THINK IDE CARE ABOUT ANOTHER MET LOSS THIS SEASON, I WAS WRONG. I THINK I CARED MORE TODAY THAN WHEN LUIS CASTILLO DROPPED THE FLY BALL OR WHEN RYAN CHURCH FAILED TO TOUCH THIRD ROUNDING THE BASES. UNREAL!
ON A BRIGHT NOTE: THE DIRTY 530 WILL BE UP AND ABOUT TOMORROW AFTERNOON IN FULL FORCE. PREGAME STARTS AT 10 AM IN THE PARKING LOT ADJACENT TO THE LIRR BOARDWALK AND THE CHANTS WILL BE LOUDER THAN EVER AS WE HAVE OUR BIGGEST CREW OF THE SEASON HEADING TO THE GAME. ALL ARE WELCOME TO JOIN!
I don’t even know what to say. Even I’m starting to feel bad for you guys. First triple play to end a game since like 1920 something. Perhaps we’ll see you in the playoffs here in Philly.
