The Return of One Carlos

Carlos Beltran may make his debut Tuesday for the Mets. When he was put on the D.L. earlier this year it pretty much signaled the end to the 2009 Mets season. Beltran has probably unfairly been labeled a soft player while on the Mets but you have to give him credit for fighting his way back and coming back to play this season. There is absolutely nothing for him to play for, but he’s come back and that’s a positive.

Meanwhile, Carlos Delgado’s Met career is probably over. He had a nice run while healthy here. I remember the ‘06 playoff run and he carried us. I liked Delgado while he was here. The Mets will have to search for another option in the future. Hopefully, we’re not fed the Daniel Murphy can play 1st base much better than the outfield and he’s going to be a great hitter line again.
