So the Yankees went out and got a young speedy outfielder with pop (something we could use in Citifield?) and all us Mets fans can talk about is which catcher Omar will sign next. It really is pathetic and hilarious all at once. I’ve been so disheartened by this organization over the past year or so, it’s tough to really get emotionally involved any more until this organization proves something to the fans.
The Mets organization needs to prove to their fans they are committed to winning, they need to prove this to us by signing a couple of big time free agents or making a big time trade. As you guys have seen my posts have become more infrequent this off season, partly because I am more in a reactionary mode with this team. The “buzz” that this organization puts out no longer excites me. I WANT RESULTS. So they can go all out for Benji Molina and Joel Pineiro but until I see Matt Holliday or John Lackey or Roy Halladay I’m not going to think about 2010 tickets. Until then, I hope the rest of you Mets fans don’t hold your breath waiting on Omar. I’m sure someone out there is excited about Chris Coste and Henry Blanco aka “Hank White” (see picture above), I know I’m not.

Look at that ageing beaner take a siesta…. I’m excited. I like to call him Benny Blanco.

Your posts have become infrequent because there is nothing but cricket chirps coming from Mets camp right now.
Apparently Omar walked into the winter meetings all cocky like any cowboy with a big swinging dick walking up to the poker table.
He is allegedly not in any major rush to make moves. His strategy of putting on his poker face and hide his desperation amongst the other GM’s and agents will definitely pay off… He has so many chips to bargain with that it is only a matter of time before teams come knocking on our door. He is mentally prepared and has convinced himself that his 70 win team is actually an 110 win team. No worries Omar is sitting at the table ready to deal guys.
