June is a Big Month

June has the potential to be a very big month for the Mets. Looking at the schedule the Mets have three games at home against the Padres this week, they then head on the road.

We all know the road has been rough for the Mets where they are just 8-18 but the Mets will face two of the worst teams in baseball.  After this Padres series, we have three against the Orioles and then three against the Indians and finally three in the Bronx.

After the 9 game road trip it’s a six game homestand against the Tigers and Twins, two tough teams but hey we’re they best home team in the majors right. The Mets then end the month for three at Florida against the Marlins.

The Braves are in the midst of an 11 game road trip through the West coast and Minnesota. Hopefully they start to come undone sooner or later, but I do believe they’ll come back down to earth at some point before September.

The Braves have the Marlins then at the Red Sox and Yanks before coming back for Philly for the Twins and Indians then on the road for the Jays and Reds to close out the month.

I’m looking for the Mets to be 13-8 to close out the last 21 games of this month. That would put the team eight games over .500 and most likely at the top of the division. Now we may look back at the end of the month and see the team is back at .500, but this month has the potential to really jump start this team.
