Another road game, yet another road win for the surging Mets. A week ago at this time we were wondering if the Mets could win a series on the road. The Mets have now won 7 in a row after their 4-0 shutout of the Yankees.
This team has really taken off, you have to like the feeling you’re geeting not only from the team’s play but the comradery on the field and in the dugout.
Tonight it was Hisanori Takahashi giving the Mets another 6 innings of shutout ball against the Yankees. Going into tonight I didnt like the matchup, facing the Yankees for the second time I thought for sure they would figure him out. Luckily, I was wrong.
It’s going to be a real tough call as to what you do with Takahashi when John Maine returns shortly. To be honest, I’m not sure what you do. We do know that Takahashi can excel in either a starting role or a bullpen role, we don’t know if Maine can handle the pen.. You may have to put Maine in as starter and then if he falters replace him with Takahashi later.
Angel Pagan had a huge 2 RBI double in the 8th to give the Mets a two important insurance runs. You can’t say enough about Pagan. We’ll worry about Beltran when he’s 110%, until then let Angel guide us.
How about Pedro Feliciano? The guy just gets the job done in big situations day in and day out for the past four years. Unsung hero for sure so far.
I’m sorry but K-Rod is really starting scare me, he’s been getting the job done, but barely. It’s a concern at this point. When you can’t put away Brett Gardner, there’s something wrong there. Let’s hope he doesn’t become our achilles heal later this year.
Strong win, you can’t say we’re beating up on bad teams on the road now. Two awesome pitching matchups the next two afternoons. Pelfrey (9-1) vs. Hughes (9-1) two future aces, then Sunday Johan vs. C.C.

Amazing how once they took Maine and Ollie out of the rotation, and just played smart ball their fortunes changed fast.
Yeah I agree Jimmy. And Pagan has replaced Beltran very nicely.
LETS GO METS!!!
