Thursday Matinee
Here’s a nice writeup from Pessimets Reader Quack, on his experience at Thursday afternoon’s win over the Cardinals.
Today was a great day to take off work and watch the Mets win a game and take the series versus the St. Louis Cardinals.
There’s just something great about day games during the week.  They are pretty rare but I recommend anyone to take a much-needed day off work and enjoy a day at the park with a beer or soda and good food and fans.  It’s also great knowing your boss and co-workers are at work while you’re outside enjoying a great ballgame!
We had R.A. Dickey on the mound today, and he pitched marvelous, lasting 8.1 innings of 4-hit shutout ball.   Francisco Rodriguez came in to get the save, and Ike Davis once again came thru, this time with a 3-run home run.  Carlos Beltran also hit an rbi single which was nice to see.
It was umbrella day and it came in handy around the 6th inning with some showers.  But the weather held thru and we all had a blast!  LETS GO METS!!!
