Playing in a stadium that looks like it was designed by Willy Wonka on acid, the Mets came from behind but fell short this time. They had to rally from 3-0 down after Johan Santana staked the fish to an early lead. He then settled down and the Mets chipped away till Mike Baxter broke through with a 2 run double in the 8th to give the Mets the lead. Frank “Armando” Francisco then blew the save after Ike Davis made a bad error in the 8th to give the Marlins a free unearned run off Bobby Parnell.
You have to like the way the Mets have played and fought hard but the bullpen couldn’t hold the fish down. Just a bad error by Ike in the 8th to put Reyes on that cost the Mets a run. Ike did have another homer tonight so you can’t kill him too much.
Frank Francisco blew another game, he now has a 6.59 ERA on the year. I have no confidence in Francisco at all, I’d honestly rather see Parnell close out games. I think he will be closing games before the season’s over. Well it was a nice winning streak, let’s see if Dickey can get us back on track tomorrow.
