Waking up today after last night, I still find myself shaking my head in disbelief, I can’t believe it’s been done. I never thought I’d see one in my lifetime and on Friday June 1st 2012 Johan Santana did it, he threw the first no hitter in team history.

I always wondered if it would be a great pitcher to do it, or a no name pitcher to do it but Johan doing it made it even more special. Coming off surgery and not pitching last year to where he is now, it makes me think maybe just maybe this franchise is turning the corner again and anything is possible.

I’m not saying we can win the world series this season, I think we’re looking at 2014 to be truly┬ácompetitive┬ábut the way they’re playing who’s to say we can’t be within a few games in August and possibly September if the pitching staff stays healthy.

Let’s enjoy this one, as Mets fans these days are few and far between. So wear your Met gear today because we can truly be proud of our team and franchise…. for one day at least.
